This retreat was started by Don G. and Jack H. in 1992. This was a result of these a few guys wanting to have a retreat for men in our area since a few of the local retreat houses closed.

The first year started with 16 guys went to Camp Bement in Charlton, MA and it snowed all weekend. They ended up with over 2 feet of show. This was the beginning of a tradition that continues on today. From 1992 to 2006 our annual retreat was held on the weekend before Thanksgiving. We have since found a new home at the Pilgrim Pines Conference Center in N.H. starting December 2007.

Throughout the years many sober men have attended this retreat which is now called the  “Renewal of the Spirit”. This name came about by putting suggestions together from the men who have attended the retreat over the years. Our purpose is to renew our spirit as sober men with the help of a program of spiritual attraction. We hope all who attend the retreat get out of this as much as we have. The retreat has a new home now and we look forward to many more to come.
